“Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the Sea, at the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make known his mighty power...Then they believed his words; they sang his praise. But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.

You’ve heard it said. “Go and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt 28:19). This is the anthem of evangelism. This is the call made by countless preachers who hope to see their audience take hold of Jesus’ words; who hope their audience will go and tell everyone they know about Jesus’ good news.

Do you fear economic depression? Do you worry about future financial disaster? Do you anxiously watch the evening news or read the morning paper desperately waiting to discover that the present global financial crisis has ceased?
If so, why?
